Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Written Episode Update 18th August 2024: Abhira’s Identity Crisis
The episode begins with Abhira looking at rings. Charu suggests that they choose their rings without seeing each other’s choices. Abhira notices the rings cost 5 lakhs and steps away, feeling overwhelmed. Rohit tells her to choose a ring too, as he wants to give her a new ring to mark their relationship’s new beginning. Abhira, seeing only 5000 rupees in her balance, starts to cry. Vidya arrives and comforts her, explaining that her parents spent a lot on her wedding, which she didn’t like. She tells Abhira that, despite being independent, it’s okay to accept help and not to worry about the expenses.
Madhav and Manoj suggest the family should choose rings and leave. Ruhi sees Armaan and goes to pick out a ring. Armaan chooses one too, while Rohit watches. Manisha tells Armaan and Abhira that they shouldn’t disturb Ruhi and Rohit’s shopping. She says Armaan should focus on picking a ring for Abhira, and they can choose another time.
Manisha advises Armaan to speak up if something is wrong. Ruhi holds Rohit’s hand while Dadi overhears Vidya talking to Abhira. Vidya explains that Armaan values relationships more than money and that sharing joy and sorrow should not be hindered by money. Dadi smiles and leaves, and Vidya jokes about the challenges of new relationships.
Abhira asks if there are only gold rings available. The shopkeeper says the Poddar family prefers more than just gold. When Dadi comes back with a mirror, Abhira sees the name “Pratima” on it. Dadi suggests Abhira change her name to Pratima, meaning “idol,” which signifies respect and peace within the family. Abhira refuses, saying the name is good but not for her. Dadi scolds her, saying she wants Abhira and Armaan to be happy. Dadi reveals that she had a priest choose the name and asks if Abhira can’t even change her name for Armaan, who was ready to give up everything for her. She gives Abhira one day to decide and warns her that if she tells Armaan about this, he might argue with Dadi.
When Armaan arrives, Abhira hides the mirror. He gives her a ring and asks why she looks sad. Abhira says she can’t share her worries. Armaan tells her to smile and shows her a ring he picked, which costs 25 lakhs. Abhira is surprised and questions if 25 lakhs is just a small amount. Armaan tells her he is sending their rings for polishing and they share a sweet moment together. Abhira feels sad as she watches him leave.
