Suhaagan 23rd August 2024 Written Episode: Vedant’s Family in Danger
The episode begins with Swara crying in the temple, talking to Ambe Maa. She is upset because Vedant doesn’t trust her and instead believes in his stepmother. Swara feels like Vedant sees his stepmother as a goddess and treats her like nothing. She is heartbroken that Vedant has broken their relationship for the sake of a false one, and she feels like she has failed. Prabha approaches Swara and reminds her not to give up, especially since Swara was the one who encouraged her to fight. Swara, however, feels lost because Vedant easily broke their relationship, leaving her without a home. Prabha explains that Koel has manipulated Vedant, making him see her as a godly figure. Swara is hurt because Vedant has shown that she means nothing to him by breaking her mangalsutra. Prabha then takes Swara to see Vedant, who is angrily punching a bag in the lawn, muttering about how Swara always breaks his trust. Prabha tells Swara that Vedant isn’t a bad person, but Koel keeps them apart. As Vedant continues to punch the bag and cry, Swara watches, also in tears.
The next day, Koel asks Vedant if he is feeling better. Vedant replies that he will be fine now that Swara is gone from their home and his life. However, everyone is surprised when Swara shows up. Vedant angrily asks why she is there, reminding her that he threw her out of the house. Swara calmly says she is there to enjoy her tea and questions Vedant’s reasons for kicking her out. Koel accuses Swara of giving her a medicine that could cause a heart attack. Swara sarcastically asks if Koel actually had a heart attack, implying she didn’t. Vedant then offers to take Swara home, but Swara points out that his “godlike” mother should have taught him not to treat his wife this way. She asserts that this is her home and that the house Vedant refers to belongs to Naina Bhabhi. Vrinda warns that if Swara is thrown out, their son-in-law might throw Naina out as well. Vedant argues that Naina doesn’t cause trouble for the family, so they have no reason to throw her out. Swara reads a newspaper article about a daughter-in-law getting her entire family arrested, which alarms everyone. Manju advises Vedant not to make any rash decisions, and Koel and Vrinda urge caution, especially for Naina’s sake. Vedant finally agrees not to kick Swara out but warns her this is her last chance. Swara, however, changes the subject and suggests they prepare for Raksha Bandhan, mentioning that it will be her and Naina’s first festival together. Manju says they don’t celebrate it, which confuses Swara. Vedant hints that she doesn’t know the whole story, and Koel cryptically mentions that if Prabha hadn’t wronged him, Vedant would be celebrating Raksha Bandhan today.
Later, Prabha thinks about Vedant and his sister, Roshni. Swara asks Prabha why Vedant doesn’t celebrate Raksha Bandhan and what Koel meant by “injustice.” Prabha, not wanting to talk about it, walks away.
Vedant is later found crying in a room filled with toys, mourning his sister. Prabha finds him and places a comforting hand on his shoulder. Vedant, calling her “Mummy,” questions why she is there. Prabha tries to console him, calling what happened to Roshni an accident. Vedant angrily rejects this, calling it a sin that separated him from his sister, Roshni. He tells Prabha to leave and shuts the door. Prabha sits outside the door, crying, while Swara overhears everything, puzzled as to why Vedant’s sister was kept a secret.
That night, Koel sneaks into a hidden room behind a cupboard. Inside, she finds a girl sitting in the darkness—it’s Roshni, Vedant’s sister, who has been held captive by Koel. Meanwhile, Vedant is in another room, looking at a pendant with a photo of him and his sister, crying as he thinks of her. In the secret room, Koel smirks, knowing that as long as Roshni is locked away, her secrets are safe. She cruelly pushes a plate of food towards the scared and weakened Roshni, who is in a terrible state. Both Roshni and Vedant have identical pendants, symbolizing their bond, but Roshni remains trapped while Vedant mourns for her, unaware of her fate.
