Shrimad Ramayan Written Episode Update 13th August 2024: Ram vs Raavan – The Final Showdown
The episode begins with Shurpnakha advising Raavan to wear down his enemy before striking, treating the battle like a game. Raavan agrees, saying he plans to do just that. Mandodari watches as he promises to defeat his enemies, punish them, and return victorious. Shurpnakha nods in agreement, and Raavan proudly declares that the world will remember him forever. He then leaves for the battlefield, where the ground begins to shake. Sugreev wonders what’s happening, and they all see Raavan appearing in a giant form, smiling confidently.
Ram and Laxman fire arrows at Raavan, but he easily deflects them, smiling as he says this is just the beginning. Raavan summons a massive army of demons, who hurl fireballs at the Vanar sena. Raavan taunts them, telling them to run and hide, but Ram instructs Lakshman and Hanuman to fight back against the demons.
Raavan mocks Ram, saying that his small attacks won’t harm him. Ram prays and shoots an arrow into the sky, summoning a powerful weapon. Raavan continues to fight off the attacks, and both he and the demons disappear, plunging the battlefield into darkness. Raavan then reappears in his flying chariot and fires an arrow at Ram, who responds by shooting down Raavan’s chariot. Raavan laughs as multiple chariots appear around them, targeting the Vanar sena. Ram tells them to raise their shields, but Raavan arrogantly asks how many he can save.
Shurpnakha boasts to Mandodari that Raavan is winning and Ram will soon be defeated. Jambvanth suggests that Ram call for Indradev’s chariot. Ram signals Laxman to continue fighting Raavan while he prays for Indradev’s help. Indradev arrives with his chariot, thanking Ram for calling him and offering his chariot for Ram’s use. Ram thanks Indradev, who then departs.
Vibhishan, Raavan’s brother, steps forward and admits he feels sorry for Raavan. He reveals that Raavan has an Amrit kalash (a pot of nectar) in his navel that makes him invincible. Ram tells Vibhishan that he already knew this and was waiting for Vibhishan to choose justice and righteousness (Dharm). Vibhishan apologizes for revealing the secret so late, but Ram assures him that he understands the pain of a brother and still holds respect and love for him.
Ram then boards Indradev’s chariot and faces Raavan. Raavan, seeing the chariot, accuses the gods of conspiring against him, but arrogantly declares that even this chariot can’t protect Ram from him. As Raavan continues to attack the Vanar sena, Ram and Laxman retaliate. Raavan warns that the battle will end before Ram truly understands who he is. Ram responds that while evil may deceive, it cannot escape the justice of righteousness (Dharm). He prays and fires his arrows, breaking Raavan’s illusions.
Ram and Raavan ascend into the sky as they fight. Hanuman observes that Ram is leading Raavan to his doom. Raavan, still full of pride, declares himself the hero of the battle, but Ram explains that a true hero is one who defeats fear, respects others, supports righteousness, and upholds his moral code (Maryada). Raavan, confused, asks why Ram retreated earlier. Ram replies that he brought Raavan to the right place to finish him. They continue their fight, watched by all the gods.
Raavan is eventually injured and accuses the gods of fearing a single demon like him. He vows to kill them all before killing Ram. Ram recalls the divine bow of Vishnu and summons the Agni astra (a powerful weapon imbued with fire). Mahadev, the great god, watches as Ram fires the arrow at Raavan’s navel. Raavan, realizing his fate, is left in shock as the arrow strikes him.
