Shaleen Malhotra has gained fame on Indian television. He appeared in Arjun, Laado 2, Ziddi Dil Maane Na, and others. Instead of a new show, he’s in the news for calling out the entertainment industry for “exploitation.”
Shaleen wrote on Instagram about his meeting displeasure. He added industry professionals still exploit the “pandemic” to justify low spending. Despite minimal remuneration, they want actors and producers to create masterpieces.
“You can’t pay peanuts and expect a masterpiece,” he wrote.
He added that performers, writers, directors, and creators have predetermined fees for their hard work and talent. Thus, if someone understands their modest budget, they should not exploit others.
He stated, “If you have limited budgets and know it, please refrain from exploiting others.”
He gained social media attention with his statement. Many complimented him for addressing a neglected topic. Shaleen usually plays serious TV roles and doesn’t discuss industry issues, so this statement stood out.
Even though he didn’t explain why he posted this, many found it moving.
