Last year, Shah Rukh Khan kept audiences entertained with not just one, but three big movies. Even though he’s busy with many projects, he’s already working on his next one. As mentioned earlier, the superstar will be sharing the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, in their upcoming movie titled King.
Recently, during a media interaction at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, SRK talked about his upcoming action film, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. In a video that’s now going viral, he officially announced, “The next film that I am doing is King. I have to start working on it, lose some weight, stretch a little so my groins don’t get caught while I am doing action scenes.”
At the festival, where he received the Pardo alla Carriera award, Shah Rukh also mentioned that he’s been thinking about this film for the past few years. In another video, he shared how he chooses his movies. He said that last year, he finished working on Jawan and Dunki.
Hinting at King, SRK revealed, “Now, there’s a certain type of film I want to do, something more focused on my age. I’ve been thinking about it for 6-7 years. I mentioned it to Sujoy one day, and he said, ‘Sir, I have a subject.’”
He also explained that his process for choosing films is quite simple. Whenever he wants to work on a specific genre, he just puts the idea out there. Then, he meets with a few people who might have a suitable subject. “I listen to them, spend some time together, and then we just go ahead, make the film, and have lots of fun,” he said, adding that it’s never been more straightforward than that.
For those who don’t know, King will mark Suhana’s debut on the big screen and is expected to start filming in November this year. The movie also features Abhishek Bachchan in a villainous role, and Munjya actor Abhay Verma has been cast in a key role in this much-anticipated film.
