Over the years, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has been a popular dance reality show. Season 6 was especially memorable, featuring stars like Drashti Dhami, Shweta Tiwari, Sidharth Shukla, and Karan Patel. A standout moment from that season was when Sanaya Irani challenged Karan Johar’s belief that two actresses cannot be friends, using her own close friendship with Drashti Dhami as an example.
In one episode, Sanaya appeared to support her friend Drashti, who was starring in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, while Sanaya was leading in Rangrasiya. Sanaya addressed Karan Johar directly, saying, “Karan sir, I heard you say that two actresses cannot be friends, and I don’t think that’s true.” Drashti agreed, adding, “Yes, we are friends.”
Sanaya, known from Miley Jab Hum Tum, added, “And it’s been 7 years.” Karan Johar humorously responded, “Meet me after 2 years, darling.” Sanaya replied with, “I will…”
The two friends showed their bond by dancing together on the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 stage. Over a decade later, Sanaya and Drashti are still best friends. Recently, Sanaya celebrated Drashti’s baby shower with a touching Instagram post. She wrote, “Love and only love for you two @dhamidrashti @khemkaniraj. Congratulations, Babies! I am so excited for both of you as you start this amazing journey of parenthood. I can’t wait to be the FAVOURITE MASI, and thank you both for the sweetest belated birthday gift.”
Drashti Dhami responded to the post, saying, “Baby, I love you ……. Thank you. Can’t wait to meet THE MASI. Also, all the best to you … as you’re going to have sleepless nights with me too.”
