A week ago, Pinkvilla exclusively shared that Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar are teaming up for the first time in a new film directed by Pulkit, who previously directed Bhakshak. We also revealed that the film will be produced by Jay Shewakramani, known for movies like Jaawani Jaaneman, Freddy, Malang, Race 2, and It’s Entertainment. Now, we have an exciting update: the film is set to begin shooting in September 2024 and will mark Rajkummar Rao’s debut in the action genre.
Sources close to the project have informed us that Rajkummar Rao will play a gangster in Pulkit’s upcoming film. “It’s a full-on commercial film with Rajkummar Rao as a gangster. The plan is to film extensively in Uttar Pradesh, with some parts shot in Mumbai, as the story is deeply rooted in UP. Rajkummar is thrilled about this role and will start readings and workshops with the team in the first week of September,” said a source.
The film is expected to be released in theaters around mid-2025. “The shoot will span two months starting in September. The film will have a commercial appeal and feature Rajkummar in a larger-than-life role,” the source added.
Additionally, Rajkummar and Manushi will share a new romantic track in the movie. Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is preparing for the release of Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, on Independence Day.
