Alia Bhatt has been a major star in the film industry since her debut in 2012 with Student Of The Year. Her performances have been memorable, earning her a National Award. However, casting director Mukesh Chhabra feels she may not fully realize her own talent.
In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Mukesh praised Alia Bhatt, saying, “I think she is unaware of her talent.” He believes this is a positive trait because when actors become aware of their talent, they might start overthinking their performances. Alia, on the other hand, performs naturally without overanalyzing.
Mukesh added that Alia doesn’t review her takes and just focuses on doing her role. He mentioned that Raha Kapoor’s mom acts, then quickly moves on from the character. Mukesh admires this quality in her, stating, “I think she doesn’t know how talented she is.”
He also pointed out that while some actors improve over time, Alia made a strong impact right from her first movie, much like how Deepika Padukone gained fame after Cocktail and Kriti Sanon became well-known after Mimi. Mukesh believes that having the right director or mentor can significantly enhance an actor’s skills, which may have been the case for Alia.
Regarding nepotism, Mukesh noted that despite being the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, people appreciate Alia for her talent. He mentioned that when he asks people across the country about their favorite actress, names like Tabu and Alia Bhatt often come up.
On her upcoming projects, Alia will be seen next in Vasan Bala’s Jigra with Vedang Raina and has the YRF Spy Universe movie Alpha lined up.
