Mangal Lakshmi 30 Aug 2024 Written Episode: Unexpected Twist
Scene 1
Lakshmi tells Mangal that she can’t come because Karthik hasn’t returned from recording yet. Mangal says it’s okay and takes everyone out for dinner. Kusum comments on how happy the kids are and suggests Lakshmi should eat too. Meanwhile, Akshar meets his friend at the restaurant. His friend asks where Akshar’s dad is, and Akshar says he’s at the office because he had work. The friend brags that his dad always spends time with him, taking him out for games and shopping. He tells Akshar that his dad must not love him since he doesn’t take him anywhere. Upset, Akshar throws his plate, causing a scene. The other parents get angry, and Mangal apologizes to them. She asks Akshar why he behaved like that, and he insists that his dad loves him. One of the parents suggests they take Akshar to a counselor. Akshar then asks Mangal if his dad really loves him, and she hugs him, reassuring him that he does. Kusum, observing this, comments that Akshar has never acted like this before, blaming his father’s neglect. Shanti agrees, saying that Adit, Akshar’s father, doesn’t care about his kids or even her daughter, and now he’s making his children cry too. She warns Mangal to see what’s happening before she regrets it.
Scene 2
Adit comes home and notices that no one is there to greet him. Saumiya, who is with him, remarks that it looks like the family went out without him. Adit, worried, wonders how they could leave without him. Saumiya points out that despite Adit’s worries about his mom being mad and the kids crying, they all went out happily without him. When the family returns, Adit asks where they went, but they ignore him and go inside. Adit explains that he was stuck at work because he spilled water on his laptop and had to redo everything. He promises to take the kids out the next day, but Akshar refuses to believe him, saying, “You will never come; I won’t talk to you,” and then hugs Mangal, crying. Adit tries to explain to Ishana, but she interrupts, accusing him of not caring about the family. Akshar then blames Saumiya for making his dad stay at work. Adit angrily tells him to mind his manners, but Mangal calmly explains that kids just say what they feel. She points out that Adit’s absence is affecting the children, and when Saumiya tries to intervene, Mangal politely asks her to stay out of their family matters and then takes the kids upstairs.
Kusum, frustrated, tells Adit that this situation is getting out of control and accuses him of neglecting the kids. Adit defends himself, saying he planned the outing but was held up by work. Kusum replies that the kids were so upset that they had to be taken out without him. She points out that Mangal has been filling in for Adit, becoming both the father figure to the kids and the dutiful son to their father during his heart attack. She criticizes Adit for doing nothing while Mangal is handling everything.
Scene 3
Adit, feeling cornered, grabs Mangal’s hand and accuses her of turning his kids and parents against him. Mangal explains that Akshar was just very upset. Adit, however, demands to know when she became so bold and accuses her of learning how to manipulate situations because he wasn’t around. He accuses her of deliberately taking the kids out to embarrass him. Mangal denies this, saying she only wanted to see the kids happy. But Adit, furious, grabs some bangles and says maybe he should wear them instead, making her hand bleed. He coldly tells her to stop playing the victim and provoking the children and their parents, then storms out.
Scene 4
Lakshmi is worried about Karthik and tries calling him. She enters her room and is surprised to find gifts with a card that says, “You brought light and peace into my life.” This makes her happy, and she wonders if their marriage is moving beyond just friendship.
Meanwhile, Mangal is preparing Sudesh’s medicines when Saumiya switches them. The kids apologize to Adit for their earlier behavior. He acknowledges that they were right to feel upset and admits that work has been stressful. Kusum tells Adit that he should apologize to Mangal as well, but Mangal quickly changes the subject, talking about food, and asks the kids to get ready for school. As Mangal brings Sudesh’s medicines, she notices an extra pill that isn’t his. She gives him the correct ones but is concerned about the mistake.
Saumiya, on the other hand, tries to trip Mangal, but Akshar falls instead. Mangal immediately picks him up and applies medicine to his wound. During this chaos, Saumiya secretly switches Sudesh’s pills again. Later, in the kitchen, she sees Sudesh about to take his medicine and stops him, warning that the pill is not for his heart but for depression, which could be very dangerous for him. She accuses Mangal of trying to poison him, raising suspicion about Mangal’s intentions.
