Mangal Lakshmi 28 Aug 2024 Written Episode: Saumiya’s Unexpected Move
Scene 1
Kusum suggests they should take Saumiya home. She thinks they can convince Shalini and Vinod later, but for now, it’s too risky to leave her at the hospital since Adit’s name came up in the case. Adit asks Saumiya to talk to her, but she says she needs to freshen up first. Adit mentions he has to get the discharge papers. Outside, Adit hugs Saumiya and expresses his relief that she’s okay, pleading with her not to do something like this again. Saumiya responds that he broke up with her, and she couldn’t imagine living without him. Adit reassures her that he loves her and asks her never to do that again. Saumiya, feeling a bit bitter, says that while she has his love, she doesn’t have him by her side. She asks if he has a problem with her coming home with him. Adit insists they have to be careful. Just then, Mangal arrives, and Adit asks Saumiya to sign the discharge papers.
Mangal opens the door and walks in with Adit. Kusum invites them in, but suddenly, the lights go out. Mangal searches for a candle while Kusum wonders where Adit is. Adit reassures her that he’s there, and he and Saumiya enter the house together. Mangal calls Lakshmi, feeling guilty and believing that Saumiya’s condition is somehow her fault. She remembers how Adit blamed her. Lakshmi tries to console her, saying that Saumiya agreed to this situation herself. Mangal wishes she had stayed out of it and suggests they send Saumiya back home once she recovers. Meanwhile, Sudesh tells Kusum that she’s uncomfortable with Saumiya living with them, but Kusum reminds her that they could have faced legal trouble, so they must be cautious. Mangal tells Lakshmi that it’s a delicate situation and it’s just a matter of a few days.
Scene 2
Lakshmi discovers her utensils are missing. The cook informs her that Gayatri took them out.
Ishana and Akshar suggest that Ishana visit her parents. Mangal says Ishana is just a guest. She questions Kusum about why Saumiya is sleeping in her room. Adit asks Mangal to behave, and Saumiya agrees with him, saying that kids need their space. She offers to sleep in the hall, saying it’s fine. Mangal refuses, but Saumiya insists. Mangal says she already arranged a bed for her with Amma. Saumiya asks where Uncle will sleep, and Kusum says he can sleep with the kids. Saumiya suggests she can sleep in Mangal’s room, saying that Adit can sleep with the kids. Kusum interjects, saying Adit should sleep with his wife since they are a young couple who need privacy. She subtly hints that Mangal should understand this, adding that Mangal keeps her things there.
Scene 3
Gayatri returns home, and Lakshmi asks her about the pots. Gayatri responds irritably, saying she just got home and is already being questioned. Lakshmi insists that those pots were her family’s. Gayatri, dismissive, says she sold them because they were dirty, and she only wants branded utensils. Lakshmi is upset, explaining that the pots belonged to her mother and she had kept them safe for years. Gayatri tries to downplay it, saying that Lakshmi herself is her mother’s last symbol, not the pots. Lakshmi retorts that she could have stored them elsewhere and that Gayatri shouldn’t have sold them. As Karthik approaches, Gayatri suddenly changes her tone and starts crying, pretending to apologize and saying she made a mistake by sending the pots for polishing, not selling them. Lakshmi, confused, points out that Gayatri just said she sold them. Gayatri denies it, saying she only wanted to get them polished because they were in poor condition, and accuses Lakshmi of cursing her unnecessarily. Karthik, annoyed by the situation, asks Lakshmi why she would think his mother would sell her pots and leaves in frustration.
Scene 4
Adit asks Mangal if she’s been checking on Saumiya to ensure she’s okay. Mangal confirms that Saumiya is fine. Suddenly, the lights go out again, and Adit wonders what’s going on today. Mangal tries to close the windows, and Adit helps her. As they work together, they grow close, and Adit notices her hair is down. They share a moment, but Saumiya wakes up from a dream that felt real. She gets up and goes to Adit’s room to wake him. Mangal also enters the room.
