India’s Got Latent Controversy: Ammy Verma responds to cruel comments after Apoorva Mukhija’s video.
India’s Got Latent is back in the news. In February 2025, the show faced criticism for its inappropriate content. Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Samay Raina, and Ashish Chanchlani were involved.
Apoorva Mukhija produced a video alleging that a contender insulted her and a friend. She says that prompted her contentious statements. Contestant Ammy Verma responded to her viral video.
Ammy Verma’s Apology
Prabhat Verma, aka Ammy Verma, apologized on social media. He wrote:
“I’m sorry for what I said onstage. I realize now how terrible my statements were.”
He maintained he intended no harm and just wanted to be funny. He said intentions don’t matter if someone gets wounded.
Ammy called it a terrible mistake and has been thinking about it. He pledged to speak publicly with more respect and consideration. He added:
“I apologize for making you uncomfortable and hope you forgive me.”
He considered this a life-changing lesson.
Public Reaction to Apoorva’s Video
The Rebel Kid, Apoorva, offered a public apology on YouTube. Video got viral rapidly. Following that, several social media users blamed the competitor for the insults and requested that Ammy Verma take responsibility.
Now that he apologized, things seem to be improving.
Legal Issues for Other Creators?
India TV reports that the Maharashtra Cyber Cell may sue Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija. According to reports, the Cyber Cell summoned Ranveer, Apoorva, Samay, and Ashish to question them about the controversy.
However, only Samay Raina and Ashish Chanchlani attended. Ranveer and Apoorva did not attend, which could result in legal proceedings for inquiry non-cooperation.
